To train or not to train that is the question

So a while ago we bought a potty for Jackie, we have just kept it in the bathroom and let her sit on it when ever she wants, she has gone here and there. The past few days she has gotten really excited about it, Saturday she used the potty 2 times, Sunday 2 times, yesterday 3 times, and she already used it once today. All times she has asked me to go. She gets SO excited EVERY time she uses it and yells YAY YaY YAY when she goes. We have not pushed it, mainly because we have been told time and time again by people she is too young and will not be able to learn it right now. I also worry with me working it would be hard, but I am thinking though i need to jump on this! I mean if she is wanting to use it why not just try it right??? So for all you mommy's out there (and anyone else ;)) when did you train your kids? How did you do it?? Is 20 months too young to start?

one or two?

Went to the doc today, things are going well.....he said i am measuring big which could mean twins or since i am short i have a short waist and will measure bigger, (although with Jackie i was always measuring small) so who knows...they have only ever heard one heart beat so i am guessing its just one baby ;). But still, he said we will know for sure next month when they do the ultrasound! I am way excited to figure out if this little baby is a boy or a girl! (well and to relive my stress and be told that there is only one baby....however if its twins Derek says we can be done! well as long as one is a boy)

He also told me not to worry too much about the weight loss....i have now lost 12lbs he said it should go the other way soon enough he said to just make sure i eat and drink a lot of water. I asked him about the heart burn and if he had any other ideas...he told me i can try to take pepcid ac with the tums and priolsec and see if all three together will give me some relief....so we will see! I am still having a lot of "morning" sickness but have not been throwing up a lot any more which is nice, so i am guessing that will help with not losing more weight too ;)!

Everything else is going well....Derek is getting excited for graduation, Jackie is learning new things all the time, and I am just working and making it through!

All about perspective

lately i have been focusing a lot on the negative aspects of this pregnancy and current life situations. Today while sitting at work i remembered two poems that always seem to cross my mind when i get into this mood i have posted them before but will share them again

"The longer i live, the more i realize the impact of attitude
on life. It is more important then the past,
than education, than money, than circumstances,
than failures, than successes, than what
other people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance, talents or skill.
It will make or break a company...a church a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day
regarding the attitude we will embrace e for that day.
we cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact
that people will act in a certain way.
We can not change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have,
and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how i react to it.
And so it is with you...
We are in charge of our Attitudes."
~Chuck Swindoll

and the poem is by an unknown author and it goes like this
It's all in how you look at it
We ask for strength and God gives us
difficulties which make us strong
We pray for wisdom and God sends us
problems, the solutions of which develops wisdom,
We plead for prosperity and God gives us
brain and brawn to work.
We plead for courage and God gives us
dangers to overcome
We ask for favors and
God gives us opportunities.

I really do love these two poems! So here is my current things i am really thankful for!
  • I am pregnant, and we have no trouble getting there!
  • I get to bring one of Gods children into this world-really when you look at it like that who cares what we have to go through to get to that point
  • I have a job! Right now in this economic time its such a blessing to know that i have job! Who cares if i have to work through another pregnancy and miss time with Jackie, at least we have a job and an income, she is getting the love from her father, and i am passing time by working!
  • I have a loving supportive family
  • We have enough money to pay our bills, and buy food
  • I have a warm place to sleep at night
  • I have an education
  • My husband is obtaining his education
There you go-there are some of my current attitude adjustments i am working on! Life is hard and can get us down, but there is always a bright side to everything! We really can control how we handle the situations we are put in. I know sometimes its really hard to put a positive spin on things, but it can be done :)! I am working on it right now, i have already noticed a change in how i feel by changing my attitude, and you know what i like it!

End of an Era

Disco night!

So Saturday night my cousin Travis came over to watch Jackie so me and Derek could go to disco night at classic skating! We first sent to Savers and picked out outfits for each other, then we headed over! It was a lot of fun and wow i can not roller skate....just not my thing....i prefer roller blades.

Too bad i am lame and just have this cell phone pic Derek has on pinkish purple polyester tight pants (no bell bottoms at savers :( ) and i have on red pants......we had a lot of fun and it was nice to get out together! We came home to a sleeping baby which is always nice! THANKS TRAVIS!

a week later

the meds seem to be helping a little....its made it so i can at least stomach down a more normal amount of food which means i have not lost more weight :) I still have heart burn but not near as bad! So all is getting i bit better there!! I am almost at the end of the first trimester which makes me really excited, i am just excited to start feeling this baby move!!!
Oh and this weather today i freaking LOVE!

hope for eating....

So after trying a few different things and getting no relief from heart burn, losing more weight and getting worried about how the heck i was going to survive 6 more months with not eating...i was talking to my dad, he is a drug rep and one drug that he has is prilosec so i called up my doc and he said that its okay to take......so we shall see! i will keep you guys updated but i hope it works!! i figure i could handle nausea or heart burn..... but both together just does not work.....plus the nausea should be leaving soon....also my doc said that if prilosec does not work he can give me a prescription that should help.....so we shall see....until then i will stick with drinking my milk and eating some yogurt! ;)

Jackie updates!

lol I love to talk about Jackie....she is my little girl and i think she is just down right perfect and the best little thing to walk this earth (as i am sure all you think about yours ;)) Anyway here are some new funny things she is doing and really lol has been doing for a while....i am bad at updating but don't want to forget!

  • She loves to hide under anything and have us find her....we always say were did Jackie go? now when she hides, her favorite spot is the curtains in our room, she says, "where did she go" over and over until we find her behind them....lol she thinks its really funny
  • She loves to "count" while walking down stairs....she knows all the numbers 1-10 however she does not remember them all in order so we get a combination of all the numbers...it goes something like 1,2,3,5,7,9, ect. haha it always changes but she usually gets 1,2,3,5,and 8 in the right spot...haha most times ;)
  • she has been really good at saying prayers at night she will add on to what we tell her to say or go off on her own....however the last few nights she wont say anything but Amen...lol
  • she love to close the door when we leave the house.....and always tries to close it before we all get out
  • She knows there is a baby in my tummy and kisses my tummy and says baby kissie kissie...the other day she kept hitting my tummy saying "baby out baby out".....i dont think she understands how long it takes the baby to grow quite yet
  • she does not like daylight savings time as much as i did not like it....she wanted her hour of sleep back :)
  • She has started to love Elmo and Handy Manny-makes it a little nicer to not have to only watch Manny when she gets to watch TV
  • She loved going to Derek's hockey games! We usally sat on the front row (thanks Julie for the advice on that!) after one time of sitting their she learned she could not leave our row...granted she tried a few times and we had a few screams but its loud so not a big deal there :)! But her favorite thing to do was to bang on the glass and yell DADDY GO! haha she loved it when they would hit in the the glass next to us! She always claps when the crowd cheers and would "sing" the fight song when she heard the fight song playing! I think what she loved most though was when daddy would go down the tunnel and she could see him for a minute....she would always smile so big!!
  • She loves to wash her hands....she will ask everyone to help her wash her hands....people come over and she grabs their finger and takes them to the sink....lol she just likes to play with the water
  • She loves to play ring around the roise and tries to get everyone to play with her including her stuffed animals
  • She never stops talking....we just keep hearing new words from her and love it! She talks in sentences a lot now....its really nice that she can communicate makes things so much easier!
  • She loves to play out side and always wants to go out!
  • She loves little babies and likes to hold them and take care of them-she is going to be a great big sis!
  • She loves to come into our room when she wakes up and get lots of cuddles from mommy and daddy!
  • She loves to help, and will come up and say i help i help when we are doing anything or when she needs help says help me help me

Okay there are some things about my little sweetheart! I love her so much and want to enjoy ever minute she is our only child! I know how crazy things are about to get and i just want to be able to have fun with her before that time comes...because i am sure she is going to want a lot of attention then! For know though we love having our little Jackie she sure is a great joy in our lives! We love her hugs and kisses, we love that she is growing and is able to do things on her own now, its so fun to watch them grow and learn!
