the pregnancy pact

yes i must admit i watched a life time movie...but i could not help it, it looked interesting i watched the pregnancy pact. That movie was interesting to me and i remember hearing about it when it happened. do you? you can read here about it. Anyway brought up a hot topic for me and Derek....what should be taught at schools sex ed and contraception or just abstinence....dear blogging world i want to know what you think! You might ask what do I think. I am on the side of teaching contraception….i know a lot of people jump at this but really kids are dumb some kids are not going to use abstinence and well need to know how to do something’s to protect them self’s!

I think schools should teach all three, with abstinence being made the best solution. I also am glad to hear that a lot of schools hand out birth control. Teens are stupid and if they are going to have sex NO ONE can stop them. They might as well be safe. I'd rather provide birth control to my children than to have them get pregnant. The best thing to do is to teach abstinence from a young age and hope they make the right decisions when they get older. And no matter what they choose, be there for them. Sorry for the earful... this is a hot topic for me. :)

If you don't give children the option or the knowledge of other paths to take is there any real surprise that girls will end up pregnant? Remember those hormones people? You know the ones that overwhelm common sense? And babies don't necessarily love you unconditionally. They will grow up and tell you that they hate you. It happens. And that's as much as I can say on the subject because I should be working right now.

I was from a school that taught abstinence only and in my ward alone, five girls got pregnant out of wedlock in a two year span. I wish my friend had used contraception because she might have been a productive member of society instead of a stripper.
