ya ya i know

I have a problem....I tend to like really stupid reality TV shows.  I like the show 16 and pregnant.  I might have admitted this before lol but yes I find that show very intriguing.

I dont know why exactly, but I find it interesting to see how they got where they got, and how much of a shock motherhood becomes....and yes the "drama" always entices me.

I find it interesting to see why they decide to keep their babies, interesting to watch them take care of them once they are here, interesting to see how much the parents help out their daughter, interesting to see if their boyfriend sticks around, interesting to hear how they got pregnant.

The MOST interesting thing i find is how they all complain how much having a baby costs in supplies.  The one they always talk about is formula  and how much it costs....None of them decide to breast feed.  They all use bottles and formula...I wonder why this is.  I mean i i know some babies cant do breast milk some moms cant do it....but most can soo how come NONE of these girls do it.  If they really are hurting for money you think they would man up (mom up:)) and nurse there little ones, but i guess they are 16 which means there is a great deal of selfishness there......thoughts???

I love a nursing baby :) so cute! And I love nursing....maybe not so much in the middle of night but i do love it.  I hate the stigma this world now has on breastfeeding.  People seem to be scared of it and find it creepy.  Even the topic some find creepy....while pumping in the restroom at work the other day, someone told me it was gross....my reponse was umm really??  she explained that seeing the milk was gross.....i just said um well its natural sorry....did not know how to respond lol

16 year olds have to still go to school & can't typically take a break to pump is my guess as to why none of them breastfeed- though I've never seen the show...

I totally don't understand why the teenagers never breastfeed. But as I do like being able to save money and that it benefits both the baby and myself it is a little gross At J-Dawgs a couple of days ago a girl wipped out to breast feed using a burp cloth and it didn't hide anything. I just think that you can go to the car to feed the baby and then come back in to eat, I do it all the time.

Just me opinion on the fact :)

I wonder if cow milk gross's her out too. :) Animals that poop and sleep on it, stink, and can't do much more than eat and sleep. . . other than occasionally being hooked up to a huge electric pump the squeeezes out the milk so we can pick it up at a store VS. an intelligent woman who gives milk out of love for a child despite uncomfort, inconvenience, sagging, and sitting in the bathroom for 20 minutes just to pump. . . . hmmmmm the more I think about it the more cows milk grosses me out. Way to go nursing Momma!

lol Stephanie you crack me up!! lol!!

Yeah Heather i am like that girl although i do cover up, i just am unwiilling to miss out on events because my kid has to eat, i have no issues with it hense my thoughts on the world needs to lighten up on the negitive stigma associated with it, its life its natural...I totally get women who dont want to nurse in publice i just get annoyed with comments i have gotten while nursing Abby in public, no matter how covered i am.

the bottom line is that teenagers are selfish. it's just that age-we all were there. breastfeeding, while amazing isn't easy and forces the mom to sacrifice a lot. And when you have programs like WIC (which are a GOOD thing-I have several friends that use it, but) that are willing to pay for formula for their babies, it's not even a queston to me why most teenage moms choose that route. It's easy AND it's free. You better believe if they were having to pay for it out of their own pockets they'd give it a second thought.

Just my own opinion though.
